Since attending the Global Skills Summit in Delhi in 2008, ARC has been engaged in the rapidly developing Indian retail sector and has maintained an active connection with major stakeholders in the industry. With the fastest growing retail sector in the world and many international retailers entering the market, meeting the demand for staff with relevant skills to a globally competitive level presents challenges for India.
ARC has conducted research, developed partnerships and provided recommendations to support the development of skills for the Indian retail workforce. An outcome of this research was the report Growing a Retail Workforce: A Strategy for India & Australia released by ARC in 2010.
A number of other reports and discussion papers have been released around an analysis of India's retail and education industries;
